As coalitions and local programs make decisions about how to adjust their work to be in compliance with all local, state, territorial, and federal guidelines while also keeping services available and as accessible as possible for survivors, the following sections offer some information and examples from fellow coalitions about working remotely, how to update policies, and how to maintain connection and supervision with staff.
When making decisions about working conditions, it is also important to consider employee safety. Coalitions and local programs should therefore check in with their insurance providers to review guidance related to workers' compensation and OSHA-related coverage and to find out if their insurance companies have issued any updated guidance.
Since many coalitions and programs will likely be moving some or all of their work out of the office, it is very important for programs to have a remote work and administrative leave policy. These policies will ease claims processes with state funder if programs have to close. Please encourage all your local programs to update their policies (and feel free to use the examples in the shared resource collection below).
