This webinar explores IowaCASA’s successful model of incubating culturally specific organizations. The speakers are Mira Yusef, the Executive Direction of Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa, and Beth Barnhill, the Executive Director of the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault. IowaCASA has successfully supported several projects serving culturally-specific communities from their inception and eventually assisted them to become independent non-profit organizations. This webinar discusses the history and development of Monsoon and several other organizations, the ways coalitions are uniquely positioned to support this work, and potential challenges for coalitions considering taking a more active role in supporting culturally-specific services.
